In His Own Right

Why Barry?

Barry handled nearly all of the juvenile delinquent and unruly cases that were litigated in Putnam County from 2013 to 2017. In that time, Barry made charging decisions in cases ranging from murder to unruly child behavior, always seeking fair outcomes for victims while guiding youth toward rehabilitation. Barry worked to ensure the proper result was found for victims, but also the juvenile offender in any case he handled. He cares deeply about victims, but also about youth that make poor decisions, and need direction moving forward.

Barry is the only candidate who is a guardian ad litem (child advocate) for the court. In such a role, Barry digs deep, meeting with the child and anyone the child may have a part of their lives. Barry makes recommendations to the court on the hardest issues, including tough decisions involving removing children from their home, when necessary. In those matters, the best interest of the child has always been Barry's top concern.
